The reason that I loved Downton and continued watching was the romance of Bates and Anna. I cried when Bates cried about Anna's attack by the visiting servant. I would very happily watch a continuation of this beautiful relationship. Brendan Coy!e and JoAnn Froggatt are superb actors!!!!!!

When you hate an actor in a part don’t you know it shows how Great they are in their ability to play that particular role, no one could do Thomas better than the actor who plays him,nor Mary or any of them. They are all great in their parts…..Long Live Downton Abbey!!!!

As much as I love Dame Maggie in this series, and she's always so superb, for anyone who wants an even better idea of her range of talent, from comedy to drama, I recommend my favourite performance ever of hers, in the monologue Bed Among the Lentils, written by Alan Bennett as part of his Talking Heads series, for the BBC in the 1980s. Maggie plays the alcoholic wife of a vicar, reflecting and talking about her life and the affair she starts having with an Asian grocer. Absolutely brilliant. I have watched this show more than 5 times start to finish. It’s comfortable and entertaining and feels familiar.

After all this time, I’m still furious with Dan Stevens for leaving the show. He was such a well fit and natural character.
